General Information for everyone using the HTC Parking- Underhill does not permit parking on the road surface so please use our parking areas- Skiers and parents who are skiing- please park 1. front of barn facing the road 2. pasture – pass in front of the barns south of the driveway to access the parking field 3. inside the garage (room for 2 to 3 cars) on the opposite side of the road
Drop Off - Parents dropping off skiers can pull and park immediately on the left of the driveway facing the house; DROP OFF sign on tree
MMU nordic team – reserved parking in front of house Warming Hut/Sunporch- Open to all bathroom access through the kitchen (follow the rugs) hot cocoa available (homemade, nut free) first aid kit emergency contact list lost and found
Sign Board Easel - located at corner of barn for activity of the day, includes conditions, trail availability, special events Trail Types: FIELD “TRAILS” –trails in the fields are flagged on the downhill side and are color coded WOODS TRAILS – Through the generosity of our adjoining neighbors, we offer 3 separate areas for classic skiing in a wooded setting- Mathew’s Field & adjoining woods- beginner; Peckham Woods - more challenging twisting turns; and Backcountry - more difficult hilly terrain; All these areas are marked with YELLOW flagging. Flagging code- 1 flag marks the trail 2 flags marks an intersection of 2 or more trails 3 flags marks the end of the trail for our program, please do not ski beyond these markings.
Skis, Boots & Poles- Equipment will not be available during ski sessions, please make an appointment or see us after the ski session Pole bucket- Any child forgetting poles may borrow some from the bucket located on the patio next to the sunporch
Registration and Forms, Hat Sales- Please make an appointment or see us after the ski session
Dogs- Please leave your dogs at home or keep them in your car. There are 100 children learning to ski at HTC- some children may not be comfortable with dogs, loose dogs can cause accidents, and they leave brown deposits on our trails. Thank you. Driving to and from HTC - Sand Hill Road is steep, an option to avoid the hill is to drive past Sand Hill to Irish Settlement Road on the corner of Underhill Central School, turn left, go 1 mile to Sand Hill Road, turn left and HTC will be on your left. |
