The Adventure program helps middle school kids improve their skiing while having fun, though beginners are quite welcome, too. The Adventure group is designed for middle school kids who want to have fun on skis in a low-key environment. Members play games and work with coaches on technique while having fun skiing, skate, classic or both. All Adventure skiers meet on Fridays from 3:30pm, ready to ski, to about 5 pm, depending on conditions, at Donna's HTC. Meeting depends on the weather and snow conditions: check the Friday Skier Page or call the hotline 860-8401 before heading out. ![]() We encourage Adventure skiers to try some of the BK races in the area throughout the season. The races are designed for all ages and abilities to have fun experiencing racing. The Bill Koch Festival is a large fun event with clubs from all over New England, held in a different location every year. Check the Calendar. ![]() Parents, and others, are welcome to ski as volunteer helpers. Skiing adults must sign up and be able and willing to help out as needed, joining a group or, if not needed initially, be watching for groups or kids who could use a hand: a child who needs ski or clothing help, a group that is spreading apart, a child who doesn't see their group, etc. A commitment of every week is not necessary. The Adventure program costs $50 for the winter. Fill out these forms below and bring them to sign ups with your check, payable to Mansfield Nordic Club. Adults coming to skiing, need to sign the NENSA form. There is a $5 per child discount for signing up at sign ups on sign days. There is a $10 late fee for sign ups after Dec 1st. Scholarships are available if the fee would prevent participation in the program: please contact Jane Reny. |
